Wow, it has been a while since I updated. Well We have entered James in a local radio's Q-Test Baby contest. After I entered, I found out it is a voting thing. Ug. So, now I am trying to reach many people to get them to vote for James. Here is a link that will open up your mail program with the info. Night One is over

Well, since our little guy is a little over 10 months old, it is time for him to learn to sleep the night through. There are soooo many ways to do this. So many books, websites, other people's advice so we just went with what we felt would work.

We gave him a bath, read him a story and April fed him. We both walked him into his room, put him in his bed and kissed him good night and said good night. That was at 8:20pm. We left the room and he started to cry. He went on crying off and on til 9:50pm. During that, he would give us a few minutes of silence but then start to cry again. :( I would slowly open the door and crawl in to look at his crib to make sure he didn't stick out his feet It was tough. When he finally fell asleep, I went in a checked on him. I could hear him snoring as I got to the door. When I could see him, he was sitting facing a corner. He sits with his legs crossed and was bent over with his head now right in the corner of his crib snoring away. I felt so bad. Poor little guy, so exhausted that he just leaned forward and slept. I moved him to lean back in the center of the crib and he turned to his stomach and didn't move. I covered him and went back out of the room. He made a few more noises then was quite. We stayed up to 11:00 watching Workout then went to bed. I checked on him again and he made his way back to the same corner but this time was laying down. :)

We heard him again around 2:30am so April got up and fed him. She put him back down at 2:40 and he started to cry again. She did the same thing we did earlier. This time, no TV to help drown out the cries. We talked for about 10 minutes then noticed we heard nothing. I gave him a few more minutes and at 2:55, went in to check on him. He was sleeping. Head in the same corner but lying down on his back :) He didn't wake up again til about 7:00am :)

So, that was night one. We will see how things go tonight. It was tough though. We hate hearing him cry but we have to do it. He has to learn to go to sleep on his own.

Funny, we bumped into our friends that were in the same birthing class as us. They did the same thing last month for their little guy. He went 1 and a half hour the first time they put him down, then 15 minutes the second time. James did the same thing. Hehe.

Well, hope things go better tonight. It has been over a year for both of us since we last got over 6 hours of sleep at a stretch.

Well, the baby was NOT shy and had it's legs above it's head. The doctor too a picture of his foot.

Then the doctor took a picture of it's face.

Then the doctor was moving around and moved the mouse off April and asked if we wanted to know. We said yes and there you have it. :)

This year I've been busy!

Last month I helped lordrolo hide a body (-173 points). Last Sunday I put money in bludiscus's expired parking meter (14 points). In March I gave change to a homeless guy (19 points). In April I gave naminess a Dutch Oven (-10 points). In November I gave winnowillcoy a life-saving blood transfusion (50 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-100 points). For Christmas I deserve a lump of coal!

Well, last night at bowling, I finally bowled my perfect game of 12 strikes in a row for the final score of a 300. :) YAY! It was done in my first game last night. My other 2 games were a 190 (oops) and a 232 for a total of 722 :) Yay, I get a bowling pin with my name, score, and date on it. I also get a ring for ABC (American Bowling Congress) for this game. :)

Trick or Treaters

Well, last year we had a record of 76 kids. The year before was 75. We wanted to beat the record this year. :) We had my Mom, Dad, Grandma, Jodi, Matt, Jenny, and Eugene over for dinner. My sisters and brother-in-laws helped hand out the candy. This year we gave out large candy bars instead of the litte snack sizes. The kids loved them. April also made a game for the kids to play to get their candybars. We had a poster board with 5 movable doors on them. Behind each door was what the kid got for a candybar. Either a Hershey, Twix, Kit-Kat, or a Mounds bar. The 5th door allowed the kid to pick their choice they wanted.

The trick-or-treaters started out slow but around 7:00, we started to get a line :) hehe. Tons of kids. Tons of great costumes. The total amout we got:

112!!!

Damn, there were lots of kids out. :) The best costume I saw was the little 2 1/2 year old. He was dressed up as Mickey Mouse. My sister was dress up as Minnie Mouse. So I see the little guy with his parents walking down the neighbors driveway across the street. I yell inside to Jenny that, "Jenny, your boyfriend is coming!!! Get out here!!!" She comes out and looks towards the road where the little guy is. When he and his parents got to the edge of our yard, they let him go. Jenny squatted down and opened up her arms. Little Mickey started running towards her. A BIG smile on his face. As he got closer, he opened up his arms and then he met Jenny and gave her a GREAT! big hug. All of this was in great view for all to see. My 93 year old Grandma really loved that. The little guy was so happy to see Jenny. After the hug, the said hi to everyone and wanted to go in the house. His parents stopped him though. He was so cute. He got his candybar and went on his way. :)

It was a very fun Halloween to spend with my wifey and family! :) YAY! Happy Halloween!

Bowling last night

Yes, for my 3rd Anniversary I bowled in my usual Thursday night league. April comes and watches me while she works on drawing things, makes her Christmas balls, or does her needle point. We went on the cruise the other week for our Anniversary.

So, I bowled a 244 for my 1st game, a 210 for my second and then the 3rd game came along.

I started with first 7 strikes in a row. The first 7 is the most I have gotten in a row ever. Well, I get up there and strike for the 8th frame. :) I told my Dad (I bowl with him on the same team) that having 8 stikes in a row was a first. I strike in the 9th frame too. Again, I tell my Dad that this is a first for me having 9 in a row :) Usually when someone gets up to bowl in the 10th frame, most people stop bowling and watch. It becomes too quite. I told April and my Mom (she watches too) to start clapping and cheering when I get to the 10th. Well, I get up there in the 10th frame and I can hear them clapping and I just smile and throw the 10th strike. :) I walk back to my Dad and say this is a first having 10 strikes in a row. :) I get up there and hear April and Mom clapping and making noise. Now a lot of people are watching and I roll the ball. It goes where the previous 10 balls have gone but it leaves 1 pin up :( I was a little dissappointed but I knocked it down with my last ball and ened up with a 289 game. :) This is now my highest game. I ended the night with my 3 game series totaling 743. That isn't my highest series. That is a 761.

Oh well, I am happy with my game. I know I will have a perfect game soon. It is just a matter of time ^_^

Yesterday as we were leaving the house to go shopping, the neighborhood kids, 4 boys and 1 girl, were playing outside in front of our house. The said hi and came into our yard to talk to us. Once saw one of our cats and I told him that our cats are indoor cats only. The boy is about 6-7 years old and said that he had a cat but it died.
Me: "Aw, that is sad. How did it die?"
Boy: "It was run over"
Me: "I'm sorry. Poor kitty."
Boy: "Ya, it got ran over 9 times."
Girl: "9 times??? How do you know that?"
Boy: "It had to be 9 times cause cats have 9 lives."
Girl: "Oh."

I had to hold in the laughter. Kids are just too funny...
